A podiatrist is a doctor who provides health care specifically for the foot and ankle.

Education: Podiatrists must complete a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree and a medical and surgical residency. Podiatrists must be licensed.

Salary: According to the United States Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics the median pay is $118,030 per year or $56.75 per hour.

Required Entrance Exam: Traditionally the MCAT has been the only standardized test required for admission to the colleges of Podiatric medicine. However, some colleges will accept GRE or US DAT in lieu of the MCAT.MCAT (Medical College Admission Test)
