Outlook Email Cybersecurity Updates
External email tags and banners
To provide an additional level of cybersecurity, CSUF has implemented [External] email tags and banners to help users identify email origins.
- Emails received from outside our campus email system will have a cautionary orange banner and "[External]" in the subject line.
- Emails received from external campus partners are identified with a cautionary blue banner and “[CSUFexternal service]”
Report a suspicious email within Outlook
A new “Report As Suspicious” button has been added to Outlook. If you receive a suspicious email, use this button to alert the Information Security Office. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact the IT Help Desk IMMEDIATELY!
