About the Program

The Provost's Faculty Fellows Program is a three-year faculty development initiative that advances Fullerton Forward Objective 3.3: Retention and Professional Growth by investing in faculty career advancement, professional development, and leadership development.

Created in response to a recognized need for continuous support during the transition from associate professor to full professor, the program provides a select cohort of newly promoted associate professors with sustained guidance, resources, and mentorship at a pivotal stage of their academic careers.

Led by the Office of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, in partnership with the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs, Faculty Development Center, and Office of Faculty Affairs and Records, the program brings together resources across Academic Affairs to support faculty in strengthening their teaching, scholarly and creative activities, service, and leadership capacity.

Fellows Receive

• Research and creative activity support, including annual funding to advance scholarly and creative work
• Enrollment in the Grant Writing Academy and opportunities to strengthen research capacity
• Individual mentorship and career planning aligned with departmental promotion expectations
• Faculty Development Center learning communities and customized professional development workshops
• Engagement with university leadership, department chairs, and Academic Senate representatives to explore service and leadership pathways
• Ongoing guidance and support as Fellows prepare for promotion to full professor

By providing coordinated support over multiple years, the program helps faculty navigate the path to full professor while advancing CSUF's commitment to faculty success, academic excellence, and the development of future institutional leaders.
