Developing Passionate Citizens

Giving back, both to the university and surrounding community, is an important expectation of a President's Scholar.

All scholars willingly step up and  perform community service. The President’s Scholars Student Association seeks and plans service projects and activities, which allow our students to make a difference for others in a meaningful way.

These types of service projects are as varied as the scholars themselves, but their contributions and passion for giving back are evident throughout. The roster of partnered community service organizations include the Ronald McDonald House, Mary's Kitchen, St. Joseph Hospital and St. Jude Medical Center, Orangewood Children’s Home, the Boys and Girls Club of Fullerton, Project Hope Alliance, and many more.

Scholars are encouraged to pursue leadership roles throughout the university and are provided with campus and college-based leadership opportunities. They develop their own personal leadership style and apply those skills in various settings, including honor societies, student government, event planning, and — of course —community service projects.
