About SHAC
The Student Health Advisory Committee (SHAC) is an organization comprised of caring and energetic students from various academic backgrounds and campus-community involvements. Since the Student Health and Counseling Center (SHCC) is funded mostly by student fees, the primary purpose of the organization is to provide a student voice in health center operations, promote a positive and open channel of communication between SHCC staff and the student body, and to contribute additional awareness of student issues and how to better serve the health needs of students at CSUF.


SHAC Responsibilities:
  • Advocate for the health needs of students
  • Advise SHCC about Health Clinic programs, scope of services and programs
  • Educate students about SHCC resources
  • Conduct outreach to build Health Center visibility
  • Assess Student Health Center programs to ensure student needs are met
  • Recommend policy changes to better meet student needs
  • Administer and collect information through patient or student surveys
  • Promote healthy decision making with campus campaigns and programs

Meetings are held the 3rd Monday of every month during the academic year from 11:30 – 12:30 in the Student Health and Counseling Center, Main Conference Room, Room 113.
