Orange County

Cal State Fullerton and University Gables are located in the heart of Orange County, one of America's most dynamic counties. Rich in history, Orange County is home to the internationally famous Mission San Juan Capistrano, where the county's strong agricultural tradition and Hispanic heritage began. Commonly referred to as the Gold Coast, Orange County has extensive stretches of public beaches and picturesque shoreline, and its climate is considered Mediterranean with an average mean temperature of about 72° F.

The balanced development of the county's 42 miles of beaches, and the presence of such attractions as Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm, the Laguna Festival of Arts and Pageant of the Masters, the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim, Edison International Field (formerly Anaheim Stadium) and Anaheim Convention Center and the world-class Orange County Performing Arts Center, all continue to make tourism an increasingly important part of the county's economy and culture.

Both downtown Los Angeles and the Pacific Ocean can be reached by car in half an hour, and mountain and desert recreation areas are as close as an hour's drive from University Gables. As an integral part of the second-largest market in America, this highly diversified region has become a mecca for talented individuals in virtually every field imaginable from entertainment to art to high technology and beyond. Thriving business and industry make Orange County's economy one of the most robust in the U.S., and in the world.
