What each fee covers

  • Tuition (systemwide): CSU graduate tuition rate (tiered by unit load).
  • Campus‑based fees: Student Success, ASI, Union, Health Center, IRA, etc. (CSUF).
  • Student Involvement & Representation Fee (SIRF): $2 per term, optional on request.
  • Online distance fee: $33 per unit for online CEE courses.
  • Nonresident fee: Additional per‑unit charge for non‑CA residents.
You get on‑campus resources (library, Student Recreation Center, student tech) even with online status.

Planning a 5‑term pathway?

Many EnvE Online students take ~6 units/term across four terms + an optional summer. Because campus fees differ in summer, use the estimator for each term and sum them. Keep a buffer for books/software ($1k–$1.5k/yr) and graduation‑related fees.

Tips to reduce cost
  • Check employer tuition assistance and CSUF scholarships.
  • If you become a CA resident later, your per‑unit nonresident charge can drop in future terms.
