Application Process

 

Welcome to the 2026-2027 Application Process for Housing at Cal State Fullerton. Since Housing is not guaranteed, it is very important to follow the application process carefully and apply as early as you can.

 

Please note that this year, the Housing Application  will open for all students at the same time, and payment will be accepted when it opens.  We strongly encourage you to be online and ready to submit your application with payment on Monday, February 2nd, 2026 at 10 AM PDT.

 

Application Access and Submission

Application Opens: February 2nd, 2026 at 10AM PDT.

 

Where & How to Apply

Applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis as space allows.

1. Housing application is separate from CSUF admission
   1. Students must accept their admission to CSUF before they can see the housing application
2. Access may take 2-3 business days after admission acceptance and payment of the enrollment administrative charge
3. Students must apply through the CSUF Housing Portal

Application Fee

• The application fee is $50
• The fee is mandatory and non-refundable
• Payment must be made using a debit or credit card
• Checks and bank transfers are not accepted

 

After Applying!

• Housing offers are sent on a rolling basis
• Students must check their CSUF email daily
  • Missing an email is not an acceptable reason for missed deadlines
• Offers are only emailed to students
  • No parents, supporters, or guarantors receive housing emails

 

(Required) Room Selection

• If you receive an offer email, this will include a Room Selection Timeslot
• Steps to accepting offer:
  • Log into Housing Portal during your Room Selection Timeslot
  • view all rooms available to you
  • Select a room
• If you miss room selection:
  • This a denial of the offer 
  •  Application will be canceled  

(Optional) Roommates and Roommate Matching

All on-campus residents live in shared spaces, including shared bedrooms, suites, or apartments.

Preferred roommates are not guaranteed. Room assignments are based on eligibility, availability, and application timing. If you are selected for room selection and recieve a timeslot, you may:

• View suggested roommate profiles
• Send roommate requests
• Accept incoming roommate requests
