The ECS Student Project Innovation Expo is comprised of two components: 1) Expo Competition and 2) Expo Showcase. Both components are valuable and exciting parts of the Expo, and we look forward to a day of inspiration and discovery.

Expo Competition Session

The Expo competition is a focused event in which selected finalist teams compete for prizes based on the quality and innovation of their projects. This year, we have selected 21 teams for the final round of the competition. These teams have been selected based on the quality and innovation of their projects and will compete for prizes at the event. The list of finalists and their team numbers are shown below. We congratulate these teams on their outstanding work and wish them the best of luck in the competition.

Specific Instructions to the Student Participants of the Expo Competition

Setup Time: 8:00 am to 9:00 am
Competition Judging Time: 9:00 am to 11:00 am
Location: TSU – Refer to the TSU map below for specific project pre-assigned locations
Suggested Dress Code: Business or Business-Casual Attire

The competition floor will be open for set up from 8 am until 9 am. The finalist teams are reminded to arrive early to set up their projects and posters. The project team numbers are already pre-assigned, and you need to set up your projects in the pre-assigned locations only. This will ensure that they are ready to begin promptly at 9 am. The student participants are expected to dress in business or business-casual attire, such as a dress shirt, slacks or a skirt, and dress shoes.

The competition judging will commence at exactly 9 am. The competition's judging panel comprises a set of external industry professionals and a few ECS faculty members. During the judging session, the judges will visit the teams and perform the interviews at the respective project locations. The rubric that will be used is below. You are expected to be available at your project location for the entire duration of the competition. A minimum of 3 judges will be interviewing each project team. The competition will run until 11 am.  It's important for finalists to be prepared with all the necessary equipment and materials for their interviews. We wish all finalists the best of luck and look forward to seeing their innovative projects come to life at the Expo.

Below is a map of the TSU that shows the setup locations for finalist teams. The map is organized by team number, and each team has been assigned a specific location for their project showcase. We encourage all participants to review the map prior to the event to ensure that they know where to set up and can find their assigned location easily. Please note that setup times will be limited, so it's essential to arrive early and be prepared with all necessary materials. We hope that this map will help to facilitate a smooth and successful event for all participants.

Poster Information

It's important for students to coordinate with their faculty mentors to have their posters printed for the ECS Student Project Innovation Expo. Your faculty mentor can assist you in finding a printing service that meets the requirements of the Expo. Make sure to communicate with your mentor early to allow ample time for printing and to ensure that your poster is ready for presentation at the event. Taking the initiative to arrange for your own printing shows your dedication to your project and your commitment to presenting it in the best possible light at the Expo.
