More than half of CSUF students identify as Hispanic, many of whom are the first in their families to pursue a college degree.
Celebración de Cal State Fullerton: ¡Somos Titans!, now in its fourth year, brings the community together in support of student scholarships and programs. The event has raised $765,000 for programs like Abrego Future Scholars, Latinx Community Resource Center, First-Generation College Student Week and the Latino Communications Institute. Previous headliners include Grammy Award-winning artists Poncho Sanchez, Mariachi Los Camperos, and Andy Vargas of Santana and his All-Star Band.
The event is open to all who would like to participate, regardless of race, sex, color, ethnicity, national origin or other protected statuses.
La Santa Cecelia

Founded in 2007 in Los Angeles, California, La Santa Cecilia exemplifies the modern-day creative hybrid of Latin culture, rock and world music.
The group draws inspiration from around the world, using such Pan-American rhythms as cumbia, bossa-nova, rumba, bolero, tango, jazz and klezmer music. La Santa Cecilia’s unique sounds and the experience of its colorful, passionate performances continue to captivate loyal fans and new listeners. Named after the patron saint of music, La Santa Cecilia is composed of accordionist and requinto player Jose “Pepe” Carlos, bassist Alex Bendaña, percussionist Miguel “Oso” Ramirez and vocalist “La Marisoul.” With captivating songs about love, loss and everyday struggles, the band has become the voice of a new bicultural generation in the United States, fully immersed in modern music, but always close to their Latin American influences and Mexican heritage.
With more than 100 presentations during 2022 and 2023, La Santa Cecilia has gained great recognition by participating in international festivals such as the Cervantino International Festival in 2016 and 2023. The band has also performed at festivals in Mexico, including Tecate Pa'l Norte and Vive Latino, in addition to performing in emblematic venues in the United States and Mexico. La Santa Cecilia's talent has led the band to tour other countries such as Spain and Brazil, spreading its musical culture to other regions.
La Santa Cecilia released its debut album, “Noche y Citas,” in 2011. The album was nominated at the Latin Grammy Awards for the single, “La Negra.” “El Valor” in 2012 was named one of the best albums of the year by NPR's Alt.Latino. In 2013, “Treinta Días” was released and went on to win the Grammy for Best Latin Rock Album, Alternative or Urban. In 2016, “Buenaventura” was nominated for a Latin Grammy in the Best Pop/Rock Album category and a Grammy in the Best Latin Urban, Rock or Alternative category. La Santa Cecilia's most recent album, “Cuatro Copas,” was released in 2023.
