Instructions for Initial Consultation Appointment

Enrolled students who have not had a CAPS appointment in the last academic year are eligible for an Initial Consultation appointment. Further details for how to schedule these appointments can be found hereOpens in new window . At this time, all Initial Consultation appointments will be held via Zoom. Please note: CAPS does not provide text/SMS-based or email therapy. Following the initial appointments, students and counselors can discuss whether telehealth appointments (i.e., Zoom and phone) or in-person visits are most appropriate.

If students do not have Wi-Fi or a laptop, devices may be available from the University by contacting the Dean of Students office.

Initial Consultation Instructions

The first appointment with CAPS, the Initial Consultation, is held via Zoom. Please make sure to engage in Zoom sessions from a private location where you will not be overheard or interrupted. If you are connecting through Zoom on your smart phone, please download the Zoom app before the session begins and log in with your CSUF student account.

Paperwork will be available to complete 1 hour prior to your appointment time.

1. Log in to your Titan Health Portal using your school email and password.  You will be prompted to enter your date of birth.

2. Once you are logged in, please FIRST complete the “Questionnaire” which can be found in the Appointments section/tab of your health portal. THEN complete the “CCAPS Survey” which can be found in the Survey section/tab.

3. You will receive a secure message (under “Messages”) with a link to your scheduled Zoom meeting. Click the link to connect with your counselor.

Please log in to Zoom at your scheduled appointment time, even if you are not yet done with the paperwork. If you need assistance, your therapist can help you at that time.
