Mary Anna Pomonis is a Los Angeles–based artist, curator, and Associate Professor of Art at California State University, Fullerton. Her work has been exhibited at the Western Carolina University Museum of Fine Arts, the Torrance Art Museum, the Lancaster Museum of Art and History, the Art Museum at SUNY Potsdam, and the Wignall Museum, and has been featured in the Los Angeles Times, The Art Newspaper, Cultured, Artforum, Whitehot Magazine, and Artweek.

She is the founder of CSUF Just Arts, an initiative connecting students with community-engaged, social justice–oriented art practices through partnerships such as Project Rebound. Pomonis also founded the Association of Hysteric Curators, whose national exhibition Goddesses and Monsters will travel through 2027. Her forthcoming solo show, She Who Holds the Sun, opens at Charlie James Gallery in 2025.

Pomonis has received numerous honors, including the BlueRoof Firefly Residency (2025), the CSUF Junior and Senior Faculty Research Grants (2022, 2024), and the Distinguished Legacy Award from the University of Illinois (2022). She was nominated again for the Joan Mitchell Award in 2025.
