About the Exhibition
India: Arts of the People, Tribal, Village, Town was the first exhibition in the newly opened Main Gallery in the also newly completed Visual Arts Complex.
This exhibition was reviewed on page three of the Daily Titan for Tuesday, February 10, 1970. The dedication of the new gallery was also chronicled in a cover article dated for the following day. Attendees of the preview reception for India were each given lithographs created by artist Robert Rauschenberg to celebrate the occasion.
