 About the Exhibition

The Explorer's Guild: Rick Ross and Explorations in Graphic Fiction presented Ross’ illustrations for The Explorers Guild: Volume One: A Passage to Shambhala , co-authored by actor, filmmaker, and CSUF alumnus Kevin Costner, and novelist Jon Baird. Together, they collaborated to create a style of graphic storytelling reflecting the rich tradition of early 20th-century adventure fiction.

Also shown: Ross’ short film Backslide (2003) starring Felicia Day; select pop culture paintings; drawings from Agitainment Comics; artwork for the graphic novelization of Spike TV’s 1000 Ways to Die; and motion comics for DeadTown and the television series Femme Fatales and Dexter.
