 Before returning to his roots in the classroom, Professor James R. Taulli held administrative positions as Theatre and Dance Department Chair, Associate Dean and Interim Dean for the College of the Arts. As a Professor of Theatre, he specializes in the areas of Stage Direction, Musical Theatre Performance and Acting. Professor Taulli has directed over 200 productions and events for various professional and university theatres across the country and internationally. Along with his work as a theatre director he also stages concerts and tours for university and professional choirs.  His professional staging and directorial credits include: The Bernstein Mass (Segerstrom Concert Hall); Broadway Here I Come and Rob and Friends: A Little Night Music (Samueli Theatre); Spring Awakening (Chapman University); Les Miserablés (Anseong, South Korea); The Little Match Girl Passion (Spain Tour, Segerstrom Hall and Paris, France); The Radio Hour (Segerstrom Concert Hall); The musical 24 Hours (Stella Adler Studio), for which Professor Taulli was nominated for an NAACP award for his direction. He is the recipient of two Gold Medallions for his work with Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival.

In his 23 plus years at CSUF, Professor Taulli has directed over 50 productions for the university including plays, musicals, concerts and special events.
