(Performance Related Activities Requirement)
Undergraduate music majors are required to accumulate 60 hours of performance-related activities, 30 hours during each of the students' first two semesters or 15 hours during each of the students' first four semesters of matriculation as a music major at CSUF. Performance-related activities include recital and concert attendance as well as learning about and participating in house and stage management, publicity and public relations, lighting, and sound editing.
When does Music-278 meet?
7:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m., the SECOND Tuesday of classes in room CPAC-110 (Recital Hall)
Why is the class listed with a TBA time?
This makes it easier for you to sign up for another class during the meeting time. If a class time was listed, you would have to add a conflicting class in person with Admissions & Records.
Why does class meet the second week of classes?
For many classes, if you do not attend the first class meeting, the instructor will drop you from the class. If you have a conflicting class during the one class meeting, this allows you to attend the first class meeting of your other class to secure you spot. Then you could explain to you instructor that you would need to miss the second class meeting.
Am I required to enroll in Music-278?
NO. You can participate in the class for no credit to fulfill the requirement. The class (MUS-278) is not required, but it is a way to get class credits while fulfilling the requirement.
I have a hold on my record, how do I get it removed?
You have a hold on your record because you are listed as a Music Major with the University, and are currently not fulfilling the Performance Related Activities Requirement. For more information on options available to you for fulfilling the Performance Related Activities Requirement, please click here.
Contact the School of Music Production Coordinator to have the hold removed.
