Opera Cast Auditions
AUDITION INSTRUCTIONS
Opera is open to students who have completed their first semester of their freshman year.
When
Auditions will held Monday, August 25th , 4:30 pm - 9:30 pm in CPAC-127.
Callbacks for Albert Herring will be on Wednesday, September 3rd , starting at 4:30p in CPAC-127
Singers who are requested for a callback will be notified.
*Not being asked for a callback does not imply your absence in casting.
Performances
Fall: Opera Scenes Program (Nov. 14, 15, 16)
Winter: Musto’s Later the Same Evening (Feb. 20) Graduate Opera plus
Spring: Britten’s Albert Herring (April 16, 17, 18, 19)
Scheduling your audition
Bring with you to your audition
1. Completed Audition Form.
2. Resume or Repertoire List that includes roles/scenes/arias that you have previously performed/studied.
Audition Materials
If you plan to register for the fall semester scenes program ONLY, you should prepare the following:
• 1 art song or aria (no Musical Theatre) that best shows your range and current technical/artistic ability.
If you are auditioning for
Albert Herring (the Spring semester opera), you should prepare the following:
• 1 art song or aria (no Musical Theatre) that best shows your range and current technical/artistic ability.

1 art song or aria in English (if your chosen song/aria is in English, you do not need to bring a second piece)
Callbacks for Albert Herring
will be held on
Wednesday, September 3rd, and will include excerpts from the opera.
Results
Assignments for the Fall Scenes Program will be made by tba.
