Education Statement:

I believe that learning is achieved through all aspects of our lives if we are willing to accept the lessons that are presented to us.  As a professor, I endeavor to provide experiential learning opportunities for my students that both challenge and engage the student to want to learn more.  I strive to create a classroom that is an inclusive environment for students to thrive.  I encourage students to be creative, make mistakes and grow from their experiences.

Diversity and Representation statement:

As an educator, I believe that each person has a unique perspective that can help strengthen the community.  I respect the “story” that each person brings with them into the room.  Their experience, identity and voice have value.  I am committed to change and ensuring that people of all races, ethnicities, genders, gender identities, age, abilities, religion, sexual orientation, economic background, and nationalities feel welcome.  As a community we must strive to ensure that those without a voice are heard and help to empower and strengthen one another.  I acknowledge I have a lot to learn from those who are underrepresented and am committed to educating myself to help make change.
