Steph Tancredi

I was fortunate to grow up in a diverse neighborhood, that my parents had friends of all ethnicities, religions and sexual orientations and that when I was 12 years old, my family moved to Japan for a year.  I went to a school with students from 63 different countries represented, so the concepts of diversity, equity and inclusion have always been valued and reinforced in my life.  Consequently, I have tried to embrace, encourage and promote these tenets in the spaces I inhabit.  I have always believed that humans share more commonalities than not, and that’s important.  But what is equally important is acknowledging and understanding the differences because that is where the magic happens.  It is in our differences that beauty is found; that new interests are discovered; where growth is nourished; where empathy and compassion are learned.  The best part of my job is interacting with students, staff and faculty and it is important to me to be a safe space where all are welcome.  So come visit me when you have a chance – I’d love to get to know you!
