Interested in working for our department? Here at Housing and Residential Engagement, we employ about 80 students throughout an academic year. From Resident Advisors to Office Assistants and even our Maintenance team, you can get the type of experience that suits your time and experience that you are hoping for here at Cal State Fullerton!
Resident Advisors (RAs) live throughout our 13 buildings - their main role is to create connections with residents and host events for students in the community in order to build community and provide co-curricular education. RAs are knowledgeable about our campus policies and resources that will help their residents whenever possible!
Our Office Assistants (OAs) are students who work to staff the Housing Office Front Desk, Mailroom, and Academic Resource Center (ARC). OAs are not required to live on campus during their employment. This part of our team works closely with our full time office staff to ensure the daily operations of our community are getting done with the utmost care.
This is where I started out before becoming a Senior Office Assistant and now as the Social Media Intern. It’s one of the best jobs I've ever had!
Our Maintenance student employees are a huge part of our behind-the-scenes operation in our department and are truly the backbone of our community. These are also student employees that are not required to live on campus.
Applications to become a Resident Advisor are currently open (read more info here), and applications for Office Assistants and our Maintenance team will open during the spring semester.
We also hire for a variety of positions over the summer. More information about our summer jobs will be posted during the spring semester.
In all of these roles, our main goal is that our student employees leave these positions with many more skills in customer service, interpersonal and professional skills, to name a few, that will only serve them well in all future endeavors. Whether you work with us for a year as an RA (or more), or for three years in multiple positions as some of our current staff have done, these jobs are meant to serve our community and you!
